Extramuros, outside the walls, is a trans-national European community Leader Plus initiative which is exploring art in Extramuros, outside the walls, is a trans-national European community Leader Plus initiative which is exploring art in new environments. The partners are Local Action Groups from England, Spain and Portugal. The aim is to enhance appreciation for the natural and cultural heritage of the areas where these groups are based.
The 12 sculptures currently on display around the Mere comes from the
Asturias in Northern Spain, Andulsia in Southern Spain, Portugal and England. They are the result of a trans-national project and have attracted a lot of attention.
